Ayurveda means “ Science of Life “ and a traditional Indian system of medicine, practiced over 5000 years. It considers the interconnected ness of the body, mind and spirit in maintaining health. It aims to both prevent illness and treat existing conditions. Ayurveda treatment include herbal medicines, dietary adjustment, life style changes, yoga, meditation, message and detoxification therapies like Panchakarma. In India, Ayurveda is widely practiced and considered as integral part of the health care system. As many as 439 plant or botanicals have been recognised by the FSSAI which confers health benefits. These Ayurvedic herbs have been integrated into FSSAI compliant food products. Ayurvedic Ahara has been introduced by the FSSAI. Products can not be manufactured or sold for infants upto 24 months old. Details are available in the FSS ( Ayurveda Ahara) Regulations,2022. India is widely considered the No1 Country for Ayurveda. It is recognised as a system of medicine in 16 Countries.
